The Journey Begins

I am a 22-year-old who graduated from the University of Michigan in May 2019 with a dual degree in Computer Science in Anthropology, and decided to spend five months setting off and exploring the world! This summer I am visiting various places in Western Europe, India, Thailand, Singapore, and Greece, so if you are visiting any of those places I hope that my tips can help out! Anthropology has been particularly inspiring to me in the way that I see the world, especially when I travel. Through this blog, I hope to take an anthropological approach towards travel - one that puts the individual people in each place at the forefront of the exploration. I am a vegetarian, and a huge foodie, so I hope to share hidden vegetarian gems for all the places that I have visited. For parts of my trip, I will be traveling alone, so I will also share many tips about what its like to be a solo female traveler. My interests include reading, writing, and art, and I am always open to suggestions of new things I should read, watch, or research!
